The US Department of Labor is expanding its crackdown on foreign labor fraud, with Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito warning that investigators are pursuing visa fraud, worker exploitation, and potential human trafficking. In a video statement, D’Esposito stated that more suspensions, arrests, and search warrants are imminent as part of the administration's broader enforcement efforts. The initiative builds on an ongoing investigation launched in July by the DOL Office of Inspector General into H-1B and PERM fraud. Investigators have already executed search warrants and issued dozens of subpoenas, examining allegations of fraudulent applications, wage kickbacks, and worker exploitation. During field checks in August across Dallas locations linked to H-1B petitions, investigators reported finding several offices locked with lights off and minimal business activity.
