Two Arrested Over Extortion-Linked Shootings at Kapil Sharma’s Canada Cafe

· Entertainment · Hindustan Times, Times of India

The British Columbia Provincial Extortion Task Force has arrested two 22-year-old men, Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan, in connection with a series of shootings in Surrey, Canada. The charges stem from an October 2025 incident where shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe, a business owned by Indian entertainer Kapil Sharma. Although the cafe was closed during the October 16 shooting, two employees were present inside the building at the time. The suspects also face charges for a separate shooting at a Surrey home that occurred on October 12, 2025. The Task Force, which was formed in September 2025 to combat extortion-related violence, has now secured 28 charges against 14 individuals.

Why it matters

The arrests mark a significant development in the ongoing investigation into targeted extortion attempts against Indian-owned businesses in British Columbia. These charges serve as a formal law enforcement response to a string of violent incidents that have raised safety concerns within the local community.
