Two booked in IIT Goa recruitment exam cheating case after CISF intercepts Bluetooth devices at Dabolim airport
· India · Hindustan Times, Zee News
CISF personnel intercepted two passengers at Dabolim airport on Saturday noon after spotting suspicious objects in hand baggage; a physical search recovered three Bluetooth earpieces, two SIM cards, and an admit card for the IIT Goa non-teaching staff recruitment exam. One passenger allegedly admitted using the devices to cheat and claimed an associate had already boarded the same flight; the second was offloaded and also possessed Bluetooth earpieces and an admit card. Police booked both under examination malpractice charges; the first allegedly appeared in the exam in place of another candidate, and Aadhaar cards of two others were recovered from the security hold area.
Why it matters
The incident derails the IIT Goa non-teaching staff recruitment process and underscores vulnerabilities in exam security, directly affecting candidates awaiting results and the institute's credibility in conducting fair selections.
