Two Workers Rescued From Flooded Nepal Hydropower Tunnel After Nine Days

Nepal Army personnel rescued two workers, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, from the Trishuli-3 A Hydropower Project tunnel in Rasuwa after they remained trapped for nine days. The men were discovered approximately 170 metres inside the tunnel following devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River. Both survivors sustained injuries to their hands and legs, which officials attribute to crawling through mud-filled passages. Rescuers established communication with the workers after hearing voices from inside, marking a breakthrough in the search operation. The survivors were transported to military medical facilities in Trishuli and Kathmandu for treatment.
