However, Chinese state agency Xinhua's readout of the talks did not mention the U.S. proposal, focusing instead on bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed that the AI discussions will not affect existing U.S. export controls on advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
