Uefa Executive Condemns Fifa Sacking of Kevin Lamour

Fifa's decision to dismiss senior executive Kevin Lamour following his criticism of president Gianni Infantino has been condemned by Uefa vice-president Laura McAllister as deeply troubling. Lamour, who served as Fifa chief operating officer, had his departure confirmed on Monday evening just over two weeks after he released a statement accusing the world governing body's administration of being deceived by Infantino over a plan to sell stake competitions to private investors. Fifa ultimately aborted the plan on 1 August, one day after Lamour's statement described the scheme as the project of one person. Senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro resigned the same day, while Infantino received backing from senior Fifa executives during a meeting in Morocco which Lamour did not attend.
