UGC-NET Results Released For 84 Subjects

· India · The Hindu, LiveMint

The National Testing Agency has announced the results for the UGC-NET examination covering 84 subjects. Out of 6.07 lakh candidates who appeared for the tests in June, over 97,000 qualified for PhD admissions and more than 4,000 qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship. The agency previously identified errors in the Sociology, Commerce, and English papers, leading to a decision to conduct those specific exams again. These re-examinations are scheduled for September 9 and 10 in New Delhi and other centers, with no additional fees required from candidates. The NET determines eligibility for assistant professor roles and research fellowships in Indian universities.

Why it matters

The results determine the academic and research career paths for thousands of candidates seeking positions as assistant professors or fellowships in Indian higher education.
