Ukraine Considers Legalising Pornography to Fund Drone Production

Ukraine is considering legalising its adult entertainment industry to generate up to $25 million in annual tax revenue for war efforts against Russia. A bill backed by Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak aims to bring adult creators into the legal economy to help fund the purchase of 30,000 drones. Currently, producing or distributing pornography is illegal in Ukraine and carries a prison sentence of up to seven years. Authorities recently began cracking down on creators for tax evasion, creating a legal contradiction where paying taxes can expose individuals to criminal pornography charges. Data from Fenix International shows that 7,900 Ukrainians earned over $131 million through OnlyFans in 2023.
