The labels argue that Suno's new AI model, v6, is built on unauthorized training data and remains the fruit of the same poisoned tree as previous versions. This filing follows Suno's recent partnership announcement with other music companies, which the labels reject as insufficient to address copyright concerns. The labels claim that Suno's use of synthetic data does not resolve the underlying issue of unauthorized exploitation of copyrighted recordings. A similar lawsuit filed by the labels in 2024 remains pending in Boston federal court.
