UN Adds 61 Companies to West Bank Settlements Blacklist

The UN human rights office added 61 companies to its blacklist of firms allegedly violating Palestinian human rights through business ties to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. This update brings the total number of listed companies to 214, based across 11 countries with the vast majority being Israeli. Five companies previously listed last year were removed in the latest review. The blacklist, originally established in 2020 following a Human Rights Council vote, lacks enforcement power and functions primarily to name and shame businesses. Israel's diplomatic mission in Geneva criticized the database as a political tool used to advance a smear campaign against compliant enterprises.
