UN Report Raises Ethnic Cleansing Concerns Over Israeli West Bank Operation

A UN Human Rights report has found that Israeli military operations in the West Bank during early 2025 may amount to collective punishment and ethnic cleansing. Operation Iron Wall resulted in the deaths of 102 Palestinians and the displacement of over 33,000 residents from the Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarem refugee camps. Displaced residents reported being told by Israeli officers to leave for Jordan, as the military used air strikes and bulldozers to render the camps uninhabitable. The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights stated that these actions, which include the killing of at least 21 children, constitute a potential crime against humanity. The report calls for Israel to end its presence in the occupied territory and halt forced transfers.
