Uncapped Mystery Spinner Aliss Al Islam Named in Bangladesh ODI Squad for UAE Tri-Series
· Sports · ESPNCricinfo, Cricbuzz
Bangladesh has included uncapped mystery spinner Aliss Al Islam in their squad for the upcoming UAE tri-series. Aliss Al Islam, who has played only one T20I for Bangladesh, has not yet featured in an ODI match. The selection comes under the leadership of Litton Das, who is captaining the side in the tournament. The UAE tri-series will feature Bangladesh alongside two other teams, though the opponents are not specified in the report. This marks Aliss Al Islam's first call-up to an ODI squad, representing a step up from his limited T20I experience.
Why it matters
The inclusion of Aliss Al Islam signals Bangladesh's willingness to experiment with untested spin options in limited-overs cricket. It provides a young, uncapped player with exposure to ODI-level competition ahead of future assignments.
