The leader of the Unification Church, Han Hak-ja, has been sentenced to two years in prison for bribing South Korea's former first lady, Kim Keon Hee. The court found that the church provided luxury items, including Chanel bags and a diamond necklace worth 80 million won, to Kim in exchange for political and business favors. Prosecutors also reported finding $19 million in cash inside Han's personal safe during the investigation. Earlier this year, Kim Keon Hee received a 20-month jail sentence for her role in the bribery scheme.
