The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has denied censor exemption to 31 films scheduled for the 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram. The films include 18 officially selected films, nine in the International Non-Fiction section, three in the Festival Winners section, and one from the Nepal Package. The Malayalam film Globe is among those denied permission. The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy had sought exemption for 347 films, submitting detailed synopses and screeners for review. The move is similar to last year's clampdown on the International Film Festival of Kerala, where 19 films were initially denied exemption.
