· India · Hindustan Times, LiveMint, Times of India
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale invited Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke to join his Republican Party of India (A), a constituent of the BJP-led NDA coalition at the Centre. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Athawale stated that Dipke should consider joining the party to fulfill Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's vision and strengthen society. The invitation follows recent student-led protests at Jantar Mantar and the CJP's involvement in examination-related controversies, though Dipke has not yet responded to the offer. Dipke previously ruled out entering electoral politics, arguing that people have lost faith in the political and election systems due to party splits and voter deletion issues. He maintained that the country requires a public movement rather than another political party.
Why it matters
