UP BJP MLA Accused of Holding Three Men Hostage Over Gold Bangle Theft

Kunwar Sushant Singh, the BJP MLA representing Badhapur in Bijnor district, was accused of holding three young men hostage and torturing them at his residence in Ratupura village, Moradabad district. According to a police complaint filed by Ramu Kashyap's mother Omwati, her son was abducted on October 7 by an MLA aide following allegations of stolen gold bangles belonging to the MLA's son. The families alleged that the victims—including domestic workers Atul Kashyap and Lavish Kashyap—were tied with ropes, hung upside down, beaten with sticks and belts, and subjected to electric shocks and salt rubbed into their wounds. Ramu Kashyap sustained severe injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, in critical condition. Local police in Thakurdwara and Dilari confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that an investigation into the allegations is underway.
