A seven-hour standoff in Shambhupur village, Uttar Pradesh, ended when police stormed a room where 45-year-old farmer Arvind Singh was holding his three children, resulting in a fatal shootout on Wednesday. Singh allegedly fired at officers after they breached the door, injuring his nine-year-old son before police returned fire and killed him. Relatives reported that Singh became agitated and hurled abuses at the priests, leading to an altercation where he assaulted his wife and took out his licensed revolver.
