Unified Payments Interface marked its 10th anniversary with the platform processing over 10,000 crore transactions in a single month, crossing 100 billion cumulative transactions since its launch. The system, now live across all Indian banks and nearly 50 million merchants, reported a transaction value exceeding ₹1.8 lakh crore monthly. National Payments Corporation of India, the operating body, credited UPI's ubiquity to its interoperability across banks and its integration into everyday commerce, from street vendors to e-commerce platforms.
