· World · Hindustan Times, Engadget, Times of India
A US federal judge on Thursday ruled that sanctions imposed by the Trump administration against AI firm Anthropic were illegal. Judge Rita Lin concluded in her 59-page decision that the Pentagon's February order was intended to punish the company for publicly criticizing government policies. The court vacated the company's supply chain risk designation, finding that the Department of Defense violated the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment. The ruling directs the Pentagon to revoke all directives and communications issued against Anthropic.
