Sri Lankan and US anti-narcotics agents seized 463 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth €18 million from a shipping container in Colombo. The drugs were concealed in bath towels and originated from Pakistan. Two Pakistani men and a local Sri Lankan were arrested. The operation was part of an ongoing anti-narcotics drive in Sri Lanka, which has resulted in the seizure of nearly 14 tonnes of illegal drugs since October. The drugs were meant to be smuggled to international markets via Sri Lanka.
