Uttar Pradesh Floods Impact 23 Districts As 16,784 People Evacuated

Heavy flooding across 23 districts in Uttar Pradesh has forced the evacuation of 16,784 people to safety, with 3,042 residents rescued on Wednesday. Three fatalities have been recorded in rain-related incidents, including an 18-month-old child in Pratapgarh and two individuals in Amroha's Gajraula. State authorities have deployed 1,499 boats and motorboats alongside 1,067 medical teams to manage relief and rescue operations across affected areas. Officials have established 1,311 flood shelters, of which 201 are currently operational to house displaced families. In Pilibhit, rising water levels in the Sharda, Deoha, and Khakra rivers have disrupted power supplies and disconnected nearly 18 villages.
