· Sports · The Independent, NDTV Sports

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas cycled from Sepang to Singapore ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. The 37-year-old Cadillac driver began the ride after failing to finish the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. He covered more than 320 kilometers (200 miles) on gravel roads. Bottas confirmed the trip on X, stating he was riding on less-travelled paths. He has not scored a championship point this season, with his best finish being 13th at the Chinese GP. His eighth DNF of the season came after using slick tyres in damp conditions at Bahrain.

Why it matters

The ride highlights Bottas's personal initiative amid a challenging start to the season with Cadillac. It draws attention to his preparation and mindset ahead of the Singapore F1 race.
