Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, a 28-year-old Venezuelan man, was shot by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents while delivering a DoorDash order in Austin, Texas. The bullet remains lodged near his spine, causing paralysis on his left side, and he has only received painkillers since the incident. His mother, Flor Perez, said he requires urgent medical attention and fears the injury could spread to an organ. Garces, who entered the US legally under a humanitarian parole program, remains in ICE custody. The shooting is under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations with FBI assistance.
