Verizon to Charge $10 a Month for iPhone Handoff Feature
· Technology · MacRumors, Engadget
Verizon has announced it will charge customers $10 per month for the iPhone Handoff feature introduced in iOS 27. The feature allows a single phone number to be shared across two separate devices, such as the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. Support for the service is coming soon, though a phone number can only remain active on one iPhone at a time. Rival carrier T-Mobile currently offers the same feature for $5 per month, while AT&T has no immediate plans to provide support. In the UK, EE will include iPhone Handoff free on its Full Works Plus plan or charge £5 monthly for other users, and Deutsche Telekom will offer it for €6.95 in Germany.
Why it matters
The pricing structure directly impacts US consumers looking to sync a single phone number across multiple iPhones, setting a higher cost benchmark than major competitors like T-Mobile.
