Actor Vijay Deverakonda revealed that he endured severe water restriction during the preparation for his 2022 film Liger, cutting his daily water intake from up to six litres down to 200 ml. In the final hours before a shoot, he eliminated water completely and was reduced to licking an ice cube while fighting constant dehydration. Deverakonda admitted the routine was unhealthy and described how the deprivation consumed him physically and mentally during production. When the shoot finally wrapped, he immediately requested four litres of chilled coconut water instead of food.
