Wales Captain Ben Davies Targets Nations League A Success
· Sports · BBC Sport
Wales captain Ben Davies says the team is determined to prove they can compete at the top level of the Nations League when they face Denmark in Cardiff on Sunday. The squad enters the match following a 2-1 victory over Norway, which ended a six-game winless streak and marked Wales' first-ever win in the competition's top tier. Despite the win, manager Craig Bellamy faces a selection challenge as he must manage the side without injured players including Joe Rodon, Harry Wilson, and David Brooks. Bellamy is expected to rotate the starting lineup to maintain momentum after the team's rousing performance against Norway. The upcoming match against Denmark serves as a critical test for Wales as they look to establish their place among Europe's elite football nations.
Why it matters
The result of this match will determine whether Wales can maintain their competitive standing in Nations League A and build essential momentum for their Euro 2028 qualification campaign.
