Watchman Found Dead at JD(S) Leader Andanappa's Bengaluru Premises

A 58-year-old security guard identified as Nagaraju, son of Ramachandrappa, was found dead on the premises of local JD(S) leader Andanappa in Laggere, under Rajagopalnagar Police Station limits, on Thursday morning. His body was discovered by Sridhara, Andanappa's son, and Pradeep, a school bus driver. Nagaraju had been living separately from his family for around 30 years and was married three times. The police said the reason for the alleged suicide was not immediately known, and a further investigation is under way.
Why it matters
The death raises questions about the welfare of contractual security workers employed at private residences in Bengaluru's peripheral areas, where such staff often live on-site with little institutional support. Rajagopalnagar police have launched an investigation that may establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
