WhatsApp Prepares to Roll Out Native Message Scheduling Feature
· Technology · Engadget, GSMArena
Meta-messaging platform WhatsApp is testing a native message scheduling feature in its latest Android beta update 2.26.8.11. Users can access the function by long-pressing the send button to select a delivery date and time ranging from 10 minutes to two weeks in advance. The scheduled messages support text, links, photos, and videos while remaining protected by end-to-end encryption. Messages will dispatch at the designated time even if the user's device is offline. The tool is currently available to select Android beta testers and is expected to roll out to all accounts in upcoming weeks.
Why it matters
The new scheduling tool allows users and businesses to manage international time zones and handle off-hours communication without relying on third-party workarounds.
