Why Eberechi Eze is Struggling to Find Form at Arsenal
· Sports · BBC Sport
Arsenal forward Eberechi Eze is facing scrutiny over his form and playing time following a difficult start to the Premier League season. Eze made his first league start of the season in a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, but was substituted at half-time after completing just nine passes and 22 touches. His struggles have been compounded by a lack of a fixed position, with former defender Matt Upson noting that filling in on the left wing does not suit his style. The 28-year-old previously faced a spell on the bench following a defensive lapse in a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa in December 2025. England manager Thomas Tuchel also referenced Eze working to return to his true shape and form during the international break.
Why it matters
The struggles of Eberechi Eze limit Arsenal's attacking depth as Mikel Arteta's side competes in domestic and European competitions without adding a marquee forward.
