An 80-year-old woman named Rajamma was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Pathanapuram, Kollam district, Kerala on Monday around 9 a.m. She was among workers gathering at a site to begin work under the VB-G RAM G scheme and take required photographs for submission to the panchayat. While other workers fled to safety upon seeing the elephant approach from behind, Rajamma could not escape and was attacked.
