Woman Killed as Car Plunges 40 Feet Off Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway Flyover Near Mandya

A 32-year-old woman died on Friday after the car she was travelling in plunged nearly 40 feet from a flyover on the Bengaluru-Mysuru national highway into an underpass near Mandya town in Karnataka. The victim, Anjana D R, was seated in the rear seat working on her laptop when the vehicle went off the elevated stretch around 6 pm. She was thrown out of the Hyundai Venue upon impact, suffering severe head injuries and heavy blood loss before succumbing while being rushed to hospital. Her husband Harish, an IT professional driving the car, and family friend Nitin sustained minor injuries and remained inside the vehicle. The Mandya police registered a case under charges of rash or negligent driving, while the exact cause of the vehicle going off the road remains under investigation.
