Women's Andhra Premier League Player Auction Held in Vijayawada

The Andhra Cricket Association held the players' auction for the inaugural franchise-based Women's Andhra Premier League (WAPL) in Vijayawada on Tuesday, building on the recently concluded Andhra Premier League. Four franchise teams — Amaravati E Champions (Ushodaya Enterprises), Rayalaseema Zen Stars (Garrison Constructions), Vizag Fire Birds (Ora Motors), and Godavari Golden Eagles (NSR Industries) — have confirmed their participation. A total of 191 players registered for the auction, with 45 in Grade A (India, WPL, and senior/U-23 state players) and 146 in Grade B (district and zonal level cricketers). Former India captain Mithali Raj has been named the league's brand ambassador. Matches are scheduled at the ACA Stadium in Mangalagiri from September 15 to 26.
