Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso described the club's ambition as very clear after Clearlake Capital took full control of the Premier League side, ending Todd Boehly's chairmanship. Chelsea announced that Clearlake, led by Behdad Eghbali and Jose E Feliciano, acquired the stakes of Boehly and director Mark Walter in a deal valuing the club at about five billion pounds, including debt. Boehly and Walter are set to receive 950 million pounds for their combined stakes, while Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss remains a stakeholder. Alonso praised the former owners and expressed confidence in his working relationship with Eghbali following his appointment on July 1. Chelsea currently sits sixth in the Premier League table with seven points from four matches ahead of their fixture at Brentford.
