Chinese President Xi Jinping will arrive in New Delhi on Saturday for the BRICS summit and a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit marks his first trip to India in seven years, following his 2019 summit in Mamallapuram. Beijing stated that both countries aim to handle bilateral relations from a strategic perspective and work as partners. The meeting follows years of tension along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. India’s Ambassador to China, Vikram Doraiswami, noted that a stable relationship is essential for the credibility of the BRICS platform.
