· Sports · Times of India, News18
Uttar Pradesh pacer Yash Dayal has been included in the state's Ranji Trophy camp at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, starting Friday, September 25. The 28-year-old left-arm seamer returned after 16 months away from competitive cricket, having last played in the IPL 2025 final. Dayal was instrumental in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's first IPL trophy, taking 13 wickets alongside Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, though he missed IPL 2026 due to personal reasons. The Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy season begins October 11 against Bihar at the Rajgir International Stadium. His coach Amit Pal confirmed Dayal is in good shape and ready to play.
Why it matters
Dayal's return strengthens Uttar Pradesh's pace attack ahead of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy, while RCB lose a potential squad option for IPL 2027.
