Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to freedom fighter Gulab Singh Lodhi on his death anniversary at Jhandewala Park in Lucknow. Adityanath recalled Lodhi's role in the freedom struggle, noting he was shot by British officers after unfurling the tricolour at the park. The state government has named several institutions, including a health centre and a police training college in Unnao, after Lodhi to honour his legacy. During the event, the CM also highlighted recent government efforts to commemorate other social justice icons and freedom fighters across Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the government has sanctioned nearly ₹500 crore for the development of sites associated with figures like B R Ambedkar and Sant Ravidas.
