Young Indians Cite Job Scarcity as Top Employment Concern

The latest India Today Mood of the Nation survey indicates that 32% of young Indians identify a lack of available jobs as their primary employment concern. Respondents also highlighted low salaries, a mismatch between qualifications and job requirements, and unreliable government recruitment processes as significant barriers. A majority of 63% believe that Union and state governments hold the primary responsibility for improving youth employability. The survey, conducted by CVoter, included 25,184 direct interviews and additional data from 91,795 tracking interviews collected between July and August 2026.
