YouTube Music Launches Ask Music AI and Podcast Lineup Features
· Technology · TechCrunch
YouTube is rolling out two new AI-powered features in YouTube Music: Ask Music, a conversational tool that lets users search its catalog of over 300 million songs using everyday language, and Your Podcast Lineup, a personalized weekly audio guide for podcast discovery. Ask Music lets users build custom listening queues, explore artist motivations, and dig into music history without manually searching for individual songs or artists. Your Podcast Lineup will appear on the podcast page and provide short spoken previews of recommended shows before moving into suggested episodes. Both features are part of YouTube's broader push to integrate AI across its services and follow last year's experiment with AI-powered music hosts. The updates are coming soon to YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers worldwide, following a similar move by Spotify, which recently introduced an AI-powered personal podcast feature.
Why it matters
YouTube Music subscribers gain a new way to discover music and podcasts without manual searching, while Spotify faces added competition in AI-driven audio recommendations.
