YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Alleges Kidnapping After Late-Night Release in Gurugram

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee claimed he was kidnapped rather than detained following his release from police custody early Sunday morning. Gurugram Police had apprehended Rathee at his home in Kendriya Vihar Society, Sector 56, at around 9.30 am on Saturday. The detention took place ahead of a planned protest by the Cockroach Janta Party against chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar. Authorities later thwarted the proposed protest and released Rathee at 3 am, handing him over to his family. Rathee subsequently posted a video statement on Instagram maintaining that he gave no undertaking to the police.
