Tambaram City Police have arrested 30-year-old YouTuber Jason Samuel Vijayakumar following the death of 27-year-old financial influencer V Harish. Harish, who operated the 'Finance with Harish' channel, was found dead at his residence in Kanathur on October 20. Investigators allege that Samuel attempted to extort money from Harish and posted defamatory content that led to the blocking of his social media accounts. Police stated that this campaign of harassment contributed to the distress that preceded Harish’s death. The case was registered under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint filed by Harish’s father, J Vinayagam. Samuel is set to be produced before a judicial magistrate as police seek his remand in judicial custody.
