· Business · Economic Times, Bloomberg
Zerodha Fund House has launched the BSE Top 10 Banks ETF, an open-ended exchange-traded fund designed to track the BSE Top 10 Banks Index. The new fund offer runs from October 12 to October 26, 2026, with a minimum investment of Rs 1,000. The index comprises the 10 largest listed banks in the BSE 500 based on free-float market capitalisation, covering both private and public sector institutions. These 10 banks account for approximately 89% of the free-float market value of India's banking sector. The fund allows investors to gain focused exposure to the sector's largest lenders through a single transaction without purchasing individual shares.
Why it matters
Retail investors can now access India's dominant banking institutions through a low-cost, single-fund instrument without needing to buy individual shares.
